Learning
the harp can be a fun and rewarding opportunity. Your goal
can be pleasure for yourself and your family, enjoying the
peaceful sounds of the harp, playing for your church, for
sick friends, or to perform at Carnegie Hall!
INSTRUCTOR: Joan is a certified Suzuki harp teacher, yet
teaches traditional methods as well. Her students have ranged
from age 6-70+.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, Northwestern Univ.,
IL Master of Arts, Kean College, NJ Post-graduate program
in education, Rutgers University, NJ
SCHEDULE: For best results, lessons are scheduled weekly,
the length of the lesson depending upon age and experience
of the student. Regular practice time and determination
are also essential. Brains, talent and previous music experience
are most welcome, but the smartest, most talented person
who doesn't practice their skills will never fully develop
their musical potential. Important goals for the harpist
are technique and tone quality, which require work from
the beginning level to the professional.
PERFORMANCES: Usually students perform as a group, in solos
and in duets for the public at least twice a year: once
at Christmas and again at a concert in May. They find it
fun to share the beautiful sound of the harp with others.

guests at our wedding
continue to comment on your
lovely harp music. Thank you
for your beautiful playing, for your responsiveness to our
needs, and for your gentle coaching of Abby (teen violinist).
I will happily recommend you to any bride who will listen!
Thank you so much." Kirsten W.
